Research Associate/Sr. Research Associate, Molecular Biology

About the Position

Reporting to the Associate Scientist, Molecular Biology group, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Research Associate or Senior Research Associate. Under scientific and technical supervision, the candidate will design and execute cell-based assay advancing multiple discovery programs. The position offers growth into additional areas such as cell biology and molecular biology, immunology, and cell therapy. The position involves both technical and operational responsibilities.

Responsibilities Include

  • Conducting routine cell culturing and cell-based assay development.
  • Maintaining, expanding, banking, and managing various cell lines, including CAR-T cells.
  • Performing cytotoxicity and flow cytometry assays as needed.
  • Molecular Cloning - Experience with restriction digest and TA TOPO based cloning, DNA gel electrophoresis, and bacterial transformation
  • Supporting new preclinical discovery projects by working closely with scientists in the lab to execute key experiments.
  • Providing cross-functional exposure and contributing to projects spanning various departments.
  • Actively contributing to process improvements and the implementation of new technologies.
  • Performing lab associated tasks in accordance with cGLP and Cabaletta Bio lab safety policies.
  • Maintaining accurate and well-organized records and electronic laboratory notebook.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S degree in Life Sciences or closely related discipline with 0-2 years of prior experience.
  • Prior experience with cell culture and cell-based assay development and T-cell biology.
  • General lab skills, including sterile techniques and human tissue handling.
  • Experience with flow cytometry is advantageous.
  • Must be highly organized and able to work independently.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate in writing, must have a desire to be part of a growing organization that uses cutting-edge science.
  • A high level of flexibility to support various other activities and the ability to learn new techniques outside of existing field of expertise. 
  • Strong team orientation and passion for continuous self-development.
  • Experience in industry or in a startup industrial setting is preferred.
